Synopsis
Kalpavriksha - legacy of the forests is about the
medicinal plants and folk healers of India - an ancient
heritage on the brink of obscurity. India's systems
of healing have today been revived by a global surge
of interest.

The film looks at movements in many parts of India
- from the arid scrublands of Tamil Nadu to the jungles
of Madhya Pradesh - where local people are claiming
their rights over their own traditional knowledge.
The healing properties of turmeric, neem and belladona
have been known and used by Indians for centuries
yet others are claiming the rights over this knowledge.
